The United Methodists are rethinking their church. Some people believe it’s a great idea. Others are calling it next to useless. What do you think?

Tim,
I give the Methodists kudos for some out of the box thinking. Good start, but I think renewal has to go further. The “doors” that are mentioned are largely social justice doors, and that’s great. Volunteering, ecology, job training, and clean water are PART of the work of the Church. But I think the whole redemptive work of Christ (of which the church is invited to participate) also includes worship, evangelism, discipleship, morality, art and ethics, among other things.
Jesus is not mentioned on the site; he’s key to any rethinking of church.
Preston,
That was some of the feedback I read too. We need to be about Mt.22 and Mt.28.
